Deborah J. Tibbetts has over twenty years’ experience in various aspects of labor and employment law. She has litigated cases in both federal and state court, involving all aspects of labor and employment law, including claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, failure to accommodate, unfair competition, misuse and theft of trade secrets, misclassification, wage & hour violations, defamation workplace violence, retaliation for whistleblower activity and qui tam actions. Ms. Tibbetts has also advised employers on various workplace issues, as well as prepared employment contracts, licensing agreements, employee handbooks, employment policies, and severance agreements, both as outside and in-house counsel, including a position as interim associate counsel for the University of California, San Diego. She also serves as the Executive Editor for Bender’s California Labor and Employment Bulletin and is a contributor to the compliance assistance website Xpert HR.
