We formed Kasper & Frank to leverage our deep, substantive employment law knowledge and experience.  We have over 30 years of combined experience practicing labor and employment law at large national and boutique employment law firms.  We have also acted as in-house counsel and as an HR director at a large San Diego employer.  We are able to draw from our extensive legal and business knowledge to anticipate and meet our clients’ complex and evolving needs.

Employment Law Practice

We add value to our clients’ businesses by providing practical and informed human resources advice, effective representation, innovation and responsive professional service to achieve our clients’ business objectives.  We encourage counseling with employers at the earliest stages of employment-related decision-making. We are committed to helping our clients develop workable employment policies, practices and procedures consistent with existing and evolving legal requirements.

Kasper & Frank attorneys are expert at counseling employers on complying with California and federal employment laws.  We also advise multi-state employers on the complexities of complying with differing state and federal legal requirements.  We assist our clients in all phases of their employee relations.

Our practice includes advising on all aspects of traditional employment law matters and emerging issues, including the following.

  • We advise on performance management, discipline and termination.

  • Our attorneys help clients comply with complex leave laws and disability accommodation.

  • We conduct audits in specific areas of personnel management, including wage and hour, payroll, exemption classification, leave compliance and I-9 process and procedure.

  • We advise on reviewing and drafting handbooks and other employment policies and practices. We also draft confidentiality and trade secret agreements and employment contracts for employees and executives.

  • Our attorneys also help employers with complex reductions in force, including advising on state and federal WARN Act laws, adverse impact analysis, the selection process, severance program documentation and employee and management communication.

  • We are expert at helping employers comply with California wage and hour law, including bonus and commission requirements.

  • Our attorneys provide advice on conducting internal investigations of employee complaints, including discrimination, harassment and employee misconduct.  When necessary, our attorneys can also investigate such complaints on behalf of employers.

  • We also advise federal contractors on affirmative action requirements.

  • We cover all areas of labor and employment law from discrimination, occupational health and safety and wage-hour issues to affirmative action and immigration law.
